Melvin Thomas Ott was an American professional baseball right fielder and later manager who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the New York Giants from 1926 to 1947. Considered one of the greatest offensive players of all time, Ott established several career records as a power hitter and base stealer that stood for decades. He was elected to the MLB Hall of Fame in 1951.
